Latest Updates from Our Project:

Art Unlock #3, Names Will Stay, and Closing on $28k Goal
over 4 years ago – Thu, Sep 12, 2019 at 12:20:31 AM

Hello you amazing gamers!

Things keep moving and it was great to wake up and see that we have unlocked some more art that will be unique to these decks. Thank you! As I watch our numbers tick up, I have been keeping busy working on additional art and layout. Check out yesterday's late night project -

Goblin Brute WIP

Names are Staying

After yesterday's question about the names on the Appearance Cards your response was great. We will be keeping the names as-is on the cards and I'll create some kind of printable tab in the Note Card PDF should you want to change things up. Thank you for the input.

Closing on Free PDFs for Dossier Deck Quartet backers

We are less than $750 away from unlocking free copies of the PDFs for Dossier Deck Quartet level backers and I'm confident we will make it. We've got new backers incoming and it's not too late to upgrade your pledge.

That's all for now. We are closing on the 24hr mark and soon I will stop bothering you :)

Cheers - Ed

More Art!
over 4 years ago – Wed, Sep 11, 2019 at 12:47:06 AM

We are back with another art unlock!

I know these art unlocks might not be the most exciting thing for everyone, as the decks  are going to have the art no matter what, but what these unlocks actually do is buy us time to focus on the other aspects of finishing this project. I have personally done over 40 pieces of art for these decks and every piece unlocked means I can outsource more contract art and spend my time elsewhere like layout. Speaking of art and layout, here's some Appearance card layout I've been working on today -

At this stage, everything should be considered a WIP. Artist credits will be on the final cards.

We have less than $4,000 to go until we unlock Free PDFs for Dossier Deck Quartet backers and we will unlock another piece of art between then and now. With our influx of new backers, I thought I'd share the entire stretch goal chart so far.

Thanks to your support, we have come a very long way!

What's In A Name?

We need some feedback. Currently we are naming all the NPCs. I like this because coming up with character names isn't always the easiest thing to do. But what do you think? Do you want us to leave the names off so you can name your own NPCs? I don't think we would leave a blank space or anything like that, there simply wouldn't be a name header at all.

My preference is to leave the names. I could create a small sheet of foldable tabs that could be tucked under the cards so you could rename them on the tabs and then sleeve them with their new names. It would be easy enough to include in the Note Card PDF from the $20k stretch goal we have already unlocked. Anyway, let me know what you think.

Thanks for everything!

PDFs! (Pledge Levels, Add-Ons, & Stretch Goals)
over 4 years ago – Tue, Sep 10, 2019 at 09:03:03 PM

Greetings all,

I'm here to talk about PDFs in this update.

PDF Pledge Levels

We have added four PDF pledge levels that will let you select your decks just like the standard printed levels. These will be ideal for people on the fence or in countries where shipping prices are prohibitive. In a future update (after the campaign) we will take your feedback on what format these decks should take to be of the most use.

PDF Add-Ons

During the campaign we have no PDF Add-Ons. However (#1), after the campaign you will be able to add greatly reduced price PDFs to your print pledge levels. This is to keep us from getting dinged twice on fees from Kickstarter and Backer Kit and to keep the selections simple during the campaign.

However (#2) if all goes well, and I expect it will, backers at the Dossier Deck Quartet level could get PDFs of the decks for free.

NEW Stretch Goals!

We have unlocked some new art and print-and-play aids and have more art to unlock at $24k and $26k. And when we reach $28k in funding, all backers at the Dossier Deck Quartet level will get copies of all four PDF decks added to their rewards.

Thank you all for believing in this new project, your support for this campaign continues to blow me away. Later this afternoon the 48hr reminders go out and we have more than double the potential backers watching this campaign than we have had on anything previous. If things go as expected, we should have a very large spike and unlocking that $28k reward should be a piece of cake.

I'll be back with more news!

Cheers - Ed

Happy Monday!
over 4 years ago – Mon, Sep 09, 2019 at 12:28:02 PM

Greetings all,

Thanks for your patience with my lack of weekend updates! I did not anticipate how hectic it would be running a campaign while having my birthday, a friends wedding, and my own wedding anniversary in the same week. Such is life.

Our backer numbers have continued to grow steadily and I'm happy to report that this project now has more backers than any of SkeletonKey's previous campaigns. Pretty cool! The next couple of goals, at $22k and $24k will help us fund some new art and free up time to help with hitting our release date.

This trio of cards is a good example of combining a Merchant Appearance card with Traits and Story Hook cards from the Orcs & Goblins deck.

I will be back tomorrow with more news as I prepare for the final 48 hour push!

Thank you all!

New Card Unlocked and Shameless Self Promotion!
over 4 years ago – Fri, Sep 06, 2019 at 08:26:19 PM

We have unlocked the third new card for Dossier Deck: Commoners thanks to a number of new backers and the increased support for the new deck. Thank you for the amazing support!

Next up is a PDF reward, a bonus for our writer, and some sweet new art.

Next week should be quite exciting as we move into the final few days of the campaign. I'm expecting big things.

We also wanted to direct your attention to a promotion we are running right now with our digital products on DriveThruRPG which we have been publishing since September of 2003.

Check out our full catalog of titles HERE, including digital map tiles, terrain, licensed Ptolus products and more.

Thank you for your time and have a great weekend.
